Philippe was our drummer between 1998 and 2001. Because of the many links that point to this page, I've decided to leave it on the website, but to be very clear: Philippe is no longer the drummer of Bad Luke & The Happy Few!!

Philippe Schoovaerts is 25 years old, and the youngest member of the band.  He refines his drumming technique at the butchers' in Schaarbeek where he makes a living at daytime (poor cutlets...). Yes indeed: our drummer is a butcher with Ferdi from the "Boucherie Populaire" !!

We've worn out quite some drummers over the last couple of years (Philippe must be number seven or eight ...), but he's clearly one of the best so far. Philippe is very talented and motivated, but his greatest quality: he learns very fast. If something is not exactly what it should be, and you explain him what's wrong, he will say "yeah right, it's the drum again", but two seconds later he plays it the way you asked.  Some of our former drummers never got any further than "yeah right, it's the drum again".		Bad Luke & The Happy Few is the first bluesband for Philippe. He has a broad musical taste: he used to play drums in the "Harense Concertband", de "bad guys" , 'cause the "good guys" were the "Harense Fanfare (Gretrykring)", where I used to play the trumpet some 20 years ago. It's a small world indeed... Apart from that, Philippe plays in three other bands, so he's got plenty of work (and experience). Especially at the brassband "De Ster-La Stèr" (no kidding) his performance is very much appreciated, not the least by the conductor, who happens to be his father. By the way, their version of Queen's "We Will Rock You" seems to be legendary...
